Why I Created the Balanced Board

I built this for our home first. My kids do better when they help decide the plan. I make the first choice about what must happen. They choose the rest.

The Balanced Daily Board is for kids who push back when they are told what to do. It teaches balance across body, mind, home, and connection. They build a well rounded day at their pace, with real ownership.

We use it year round. It lowers fights about screens, and it turns checklists into choices.

  • from overwhelmed

  • to balanced

Feeling this? Imagine this instead:
❌ Your child hyper-fixates on one thing all day ✅ They learn to mix play, learning, movement, and rest
❌ Routines feel rigid or unrealistic ✅ They choose from flexible categories and build their own day
❌ You struggle to explain why balance matters ✅ The board shows them visually how to balance time and energy
❌ You are always reminding them to be productive ✅ They build independence by choosing and completing their own tasks
❌ You wish they had more meaningful screen-free time ✅ They earn it through a balanced day

From our family to yours

If your child bristles at being told what to do, this board gives them a voice without losing structure. We pick what is required, like reading or one chore. They pick from body, mind, home, and connection. The day still moves. Everyone feels heard.

How It Works

2. Introduce the Four Categories

The board is divided into: Day (daily tasks), Body (movement, hygiene, rest), Mind (learning, creativity), Home (chores, tidiness, family contributions).

4. Move to “done”

As they finish tasks, kids move clings to the DONE column, building satisfaction and momentum.

Real Families Are Loving It

“The daily board has been a game changer for my 4-year-old. All the basic morning tasks like getting dressed, cleaning up toys, and brushing teeth were such a fight. After introducing the daily board, he is actually excited to do them and move them to the ‘done’ category. It has taken one less stress off of me.” - Cynthia

“I'm kind of obsessed with our new chore charts from Fern Family. My kids are so excited to do chores right now. All of these stickers are reusable and come in the best packs. I love that it gives my kids options.” -Aubree

“I have used Fern Family products for a while now. These are great for kids to stay organized. You can color code them for each kids. I seriously love Fern Family.” - Ashley
