Family Frequently Asked Questions

About the Products

What are Fern Family Co. products made of?

Our visual boards are made from high-quality acrylic and printed with durable layered designs that stay vibrant over time. The clings are reusable static vinyl—no sticky residue, lamination, or Velcro needed. They’re made to move, reset, and grow with your family.

What’s the difference between magnetic and wall-mounted boards?

Magnetic boards come with sturdy magnetic hardware that attaches securely to most fridges and metal surfaces. Each one includes anti-skid rings to help hold the board steady.

Wall-mounted boards include screws and anchors for direct installation on your wall. Every board works with our clings, so you can pick the setup that fits your space best.

Do the clings stick to other surfaces?

Yes! Clings stick to any smooth, non-porous surface like acrylic boards, windows, mirrors, and whiteboards. Kids can easily move and reuse them again and again.

Do you take custom orders?

We’re not taking custom designs right now, but we have a wide variety of cling sets covering routines, chores, emotional regulation, and learning.

If you want to make something personal, flip over a cling you don’t use often—they’re double-sided! You can draw or write your own with a wet erase marker.

Using Your Board

How do I know which board is right for my family?

Start with where your family needs the most support—daily routines, emotional regulation, or visual scheduling. The Board Finder Quiz is a great way to narrow it down. You can also visit the How It Works page or browse related blog posts below.

What age range are your boards for?

Most products work well for kids ages 3 and up, but many grow with your family. Some are even great for teens, adults, and educators. You’ll find a suggested age range on each product page.

Can these be used in schools or therapy settings?

Yes! Our tools were developed with input from educators, speech therapists, and psychologists. They’re trusted in classrooms and therapy rooms to help children—especially neurodivergent learners—build confidence and independence.

How do I clean the boards and clings?

Wipe your board with a soft cloth and water or a gentle cleaner.

Clings can be rinsed with warm, soapy water if they stop sticking. Let them air dry, sticky-side up, on a towel.

👉 Avoid dry erase markers—they can strip the ink. Always use wet erase if you write on the back.

Use your hands, not sharp tools, when removing clings to prevent tearing the material.
